Kamala Harris Can't Answer Steven Colbert's SIMPLE Question, And The Mockery Ensues

Vice President Kamala Harris recently sat down with "Late Show" host Stephen Colbert, where they discussed the role of the VP in the executive branch of government.

During the exchange, Harris acknowledged that she knows Colbert enjoys the show Veep. Colbert used that opportunity and responded, "I do! I love Veep. Is it accurate?" Harris responded, "There are bits of it that are actually quite accurate," and shared an anecdote about one of her staffers accidentally filling her office with smoke. Later on, Harris revealed her recent encounter with "Veep" star Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Colbert moved on to say, "One of the themes of the show is that her character, Selina Meyer, is frustrated by the sometimes vague duties of the role. Its a high constitutional office but does not describe what youre supposed to be doing. Does that ring true? Like, whats the actual role on a daily basis as you have found it?"

Vice President Harris responded, "Well, I have the great privilege of serving with Joe Biden, who is the President of the United States and was Vice President."

"He really is a true partner and he understands that job. And remember, we came in during the height of the pandemic. And so much of the work was about okay, weve got to cover a lot of bases and lets figure out between us how we can do it. But hes an extraordinary leader and I wish people could see what I see because theres only one person who sits behind that Resolute Desk. And the decisions that person has to make are the decisions that nobody else in the country can make. And hes an extraordinary leader. He really is," Harris said.

To further demonstrate the daily duties of a Vice President, Harris referenced her recent attendance at the Munich Security Conference, where she declared that Russia had committed "crimes against humanity" in its invasion of Ukraine.

Since her appointment, Harris has been compared to the lead character of the HBO comedy "Veep" due to her various gaffes and interview blunders.
