In a recent interview, Megyn Kelly, a former Fox News prime time host, criticized First Lady Jill Biden, describing her as an individual with a thirst for power.
Kelly's remarks were made during a conversation with Piers Morgan on his online television show, "Piers Morgan Uncensored."
According to The New York Post, Kelly accused Jill Biden of using her position and public appearances, such as her Vogue magazine cover, to advance her political ambitions and run a "shadow presidency" in place of her husband, President Joe Biden. "I think shes been exposed as a power-hungry aspirant herself to political power," Kelly stated.
The First Lady is perceived as a significant influence within the President's inner circle, reportedly encouraging him to resist mounting pressure to withdraw from the race due to concerns about his age. This comes especially after a recent debate where the President struggled with his words and lost his train of thought.
Kelly, who now hosts a podcast, "The Megyn Kelly Show," on SiriusXM, referred to a June 2021 tweet by Jill Biden. The tweet featured a photo of the First Lady sitting at a desk with the caption, "Prepping for the G7." Kelly responded to this by saying, "Shes not the damn president. Get out of the chair. No one wants you at the G7. No one elected you to lead us politically."
Kelly also addressed the backlash she received after criticizing Jill Biden for insisting on being addressed as "doctor" due to her PhD in education. "All these left-wingers got upset with me," Kelly recalled. "Why does she insist on it? Because shes power hungry. Because she has a small, fractured ego that she needs built up. The only people who get to be called doctor, legitimately, I understand, no disparaging of the degree, are medical doctors."
Kelly further criticized the First Lady's handling of the President, likening it to a mother guiding a toddler. She referred to a video showing Jill Biden assisting the President off the debate stage. Following the President's lackluster debate performance, Jill Biden is reported to have praised her husband, saying, "Joe, you did such a great job! You answered every question! You knew all the facts!" Kelly compared this to how she talks to her dog when he obeys a command, adding, "This is the leader of the free world. She knows how infirm he is. She wants a shadow presidency."
