In a shocking incident in New York City, a woman with an extensive criminal record has been apprehended for allegedly bludgeoning a man to death with a wooden table leg.
The suspect, Sabrina Charles, 39, stands accused of murder and weapon possession. Charles had initially claimed that the unidentified victim had sexually assaulted her, a claim that was later debunked by security camera footage.
According to The Post Millennial, the gruesome episode unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday, around 4:30 am, on Hancock Place and 124th Street in Harlem. Charles and the victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, were seen smoking crack together before they moved between two parked cars. Here, they engaged in what appeared to be a consensual sexual act. Subsequently, Charles demanded additional payment for the drugs they had consumed. It was then that she picked up a discarded wooden table leg and attacked the unsuspecting victim from behind, striking him on the head nearly 30 times.
Charles then allegedly attempted to rob the victim, removing his pants to steal his public benefits card and $200 in cash. The blood-soaked garment was later discovered in Charles' possession. In an attempt to conceal her crime, she moved the victim's body and changed her clothes. She also claimed to a witness that the victim had attacked and attempted to rape her.
Upon the arrival of the police, Charles sought to evade arrest by hiding amongst cars and trash cans. It was only when law enforcement threatened to use a taser that she surrendered. Meanwhile, the victim was rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Charles, who has a criminal record comprising 14 arrests, is currently being held without bail. Her fabricated rape allegations and the brutal murder she stands accused of underscore a chilling disregard for human life and the law.
