In a recent article by New York Magazine, the author paints a disconcerting picture of President Biden's cognitive state, suggesting that his decline is being treated as a "dark family secret" by many of his elite supporters.
The article, penned by Washington correspondent Olivia Nuzzi, is based on months of interviews and observations, and it has sparked a significant reaction on social media platforms.
According to Fox News, Nuzzi's piece, titled "The Conspiracy of Silence to Protect Joe Biden," includes numerous accounts of her experiences covering Biden over the past few years. She reports that those who have interacted with the president in social settings have often left feeling disturbed. "Longtime friends of the Biden family, who spoke to me on the condition of anonymity, were shocked to find that the president did not remember their names," Nuzzi wrote.
Nuzzi also recounts the experience of a guest at a White House event last year who came to the realization that Biden might not be able to make it through the entire reception. This led the guest to consider a notion they had previously dismissed as right-wing propaganda: "The president may not really be the acting president after all."
In her personal account of meeting President Biden, Nuzzi describes him as an "uncanny" entity, akin to a character from a science fiction or horror novel. "Up close, the president does not look quite plausible... The president was something stranger, something not of this earth," she wrote.
Nuzzi further elaborates on Biden's physical appearance, describing his face as having an "uncanny valley quality" and his skin as being "pulled tightly over cheeks that seemed to vary month to month in volume." She also notes his eyes, which were "half-shut or open very wide," and his irregular blinking.
Interestingly, Nuzzi points out that questions about who is truly running the Biden administration are being asked not only at elite liberal gatherings on the coasts but also at MAGA rallies in Middle America. She writes, "There emerged a comical overlap between the beliefs of the nations most elite liberal Biden supporters and the beliefs of the most rabid and conspiratorial supporters of former President Trump."
Fox News Digital reportedly reached out to the White House for comment on the article but did not receive an immediate response. The White House has consistently defended Biden against questions about his mental fitness, asserting that there is no discussion about him resigning or leaving the campaign.
In response to inquiries about whether the president is suffering from dementia, Alzheimer's, or any other degenerative illness, White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre firmly denied such claims. "Are you ready for it? It's a no. And I hope you're asking the other guy the same exact question," Jean-Pierre said, referring to former President Trump.
As the debate over President Biden's cognitive state continues, it is clear that the issue is not confined to one side of the political spectrum.
