GOPs Bold Plan: Heritage Foundations Project 2025 Aims For Sweeping Federal Changes

The President of the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, has declared that the United States is in the throes of a "second American Revolution," which he believes will be peaceful "if the left allows it to be."

Kevin Roberts, the foundation's leader, made these remarks during an appearance on Steve Bannon's "War Room" podcast, where he asserted that Republicans are "in the process of taking this country back."

According to The Associated Press, Roberts' comments were made in a conversation with former U.S. Representative Dave Brat, who was guest hosting the podcast during Bannon's four-month prison term. Roberts suggested that Democrats are "apoplectic right now" because conservatives are gaining ground. He stated, And so I come full circle on this response and just want to encourage you with some substance that we are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.

The Heritage Foundation, under Roberts' leadership, is at the forefront of Project 2025, a comprehensive blueprint for a potential new GOP administration. This project includes plans to dismantle certain aspects of the federal government and replace thousands of civil servants with Trump loyalists who would implement a hard-right agenda without resistance. These plans provide insight into the mindset of a group that could significantly influence a potential second term for former President Donald Trump.

However, Roberts' call for a revolution and his vague allusion to potential violence have raised concerns among some Democrats, who perceive his comments as threatening. Marianne Williamson, a former Democratic presidential candidate, expressed her alarm on social media, stating, This is chilling. Their idea of a second American Revolution is to undo the first one.

James Singer, a spokesperson for President Joe Bidens reelection campaign, drew attention to the upcoming Fourth of July holiday, saying, 248 years ago tomorrow America declared independence from a tyrannical king, and now Donald Trump and his allies want to make him one at our expense. Singer added that Trump and his allies are dreaming of a violent revolution to destroy the very idea of America.

Roberts, who Bannon has suggested as a potential chief of staff for Trump, also expressed optimism about the Supreme Courts recent ruling on presidential immunity. He described the decision, which grants Presidents extensive immunity from prosecution, as vital to ensure a President wont have to second guess, triple guess every decision theyre making in their official capacity.

Heidi Beirich, co-founder of the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism, described Roberts' comments about a second American Revolution as a bit terrifying but also elucidating. She pointed out that the 1,000-page Project 2025 playbook proposes significant changes in government, including rolling back protections for the LGBTQ community and integrating Christianity more deeply into society. Beirich concluded, Roberts, the Heritage Foundation, and its allies in Project 2025 want to reorder American society and fundamentally change it. Hes said the quiet part out loud.
