40 Years Behind Bars: Texas Teen's CHILLING Confession After Mom's Murder

In a chilling confession, a teenager from Texas has acknowledged the brutal murder of his mother, subsequently transporting her body to Nebraska in the trunk of his car.

Tyler Roenz, a 19-year-old, is now set to spend a significant portion of his life behind bars after pleading guilty to the murder of his mother, Michelle Roenz, aged 49. The horrifying incident transpired on the morning of October 13, 2022, while the mother and son were at home.

As reported by The Independent, the young man was handed a 40-year prison sentence for the murder, with an additional 20-year sentence for tampering with evidence, as announced by Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg. As part of the plea agreement, two other felony charges were dismissed.

The police report indicates that Roenz, who was 17 at the time of the crime, killed his mother and then placed her body in the trunk of the family's black Mazda before fleeing north to Nebraska. The gruesome discovery was made by Roenz's father, who arrived at the house to find blood and a human tooth in the garage, according to court documents obtained by ABC13.

The father's grim exploration of the house led him to the master bedroom, where he found four more human teeth amidst a pool of blood. Law enforcement officials were able to locate the teenager in Nebraska after a state highway patrol trooper spotted his car, triggering a brief high-speed pursuit. The chase ended when the Mazda collided with a semi-truck and veered off the road, crashing into a tree near Aurora, Nebraska. Roenz sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to a hospital.

Upon inspection of the vehicle, officers discovered Michelle Roenz's body in the trunk. A medical examiner in Nebraska later confirmed that the cause of death was blunt-force trauma to the head and strangulation. The authorities have yet to reveal a motive for the killing.

Michelle Roenz is remembered in her obituary as an animal lover, a photography enthusiast, and a half-marathon runner. She had been married to her husband for 23 years and had a daughter in addition to Tyler.

In a statement, District Attorney Ogg referred to the incident as a "terrible tragedy for this family." She added, "It was important that this defendant took responsibility for what he did, and now he will spend decades in prison for his actions."
