In a heart-wrenching revelation, a father has laid the blame for his 13-year-old daughter's brutal rape squarely on President Biden's controversial open-border policy.
The incident, which occurred in a park in Queens, has been attributed to Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, an illegal immigrant from Ecuador. The father, whose identity has been kept confidential by The New York Post to protect his daughter, expressed his anguish, stating, "This is what happens" when undocumented immigrants are allowed to enter the US without proper checks.
According to The New York Post, the father, aged 70, has always been opposed to the open border policy, which he believes "just invites a lot of things that we dont need." He added, "And look what came in. Look what happened to my daughter."
Inga-Landi, 25, crossed the Texas border in 2021 and was ordered to leave the country by a New York City immigration judge last February. However, he remained in the country and was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly forcing the girl and a teenage boy into a wooded area of Kessina Park at knifepoint on June 13. He is accused of tying and gagging them, and raping the girl in broad daylight.
The family has been living a nightmare since the horrific attack. The father described his world as having been turned upside down, with the healing process yet to begin. "My mind is really swirling with all of the anger I have right now," he said during a phone call from the familys Flushing home on Thursday. When asked about his daughters state, he simply replied, "You cant even imagine. So lets just leave it at that."
Inga-Landi's arrest after five days on the run was "definitely a relief," the father said. "Obviously its very devastating for our family, but with this guy being where he is right now, thats great, because we can proceed and concentrate on something else," he added.
The father also expressed his gratitude towards the good Samaritans who subdued the suspect and held him for the police. "I would have done the same thing if it was someone elses child . . . I definitely would have. No hesitation," he said. "You dont need someone like that walking around, driving around, biking around, looking for spots where he can be a predator."
The father also hinted at the potential for a violent confrontation had he encountered Inga-Landi. "Especially when you have a child thats been violated viciously, the instinct that I have is . . . thank God I didnt see this guy," he said.
Inga-Landi, who was already facing immigration charges, shockingly admitted during his Wednesday arraignment that he recorded the assault. A judge ordered him held without bail on charges of rape, predatory sexual assault, kidnapping, and a raft of other felonies.
Inga-Landi's history is tainted with violence against women, according to sources and a police report from January. He had a custody dispute with his ex-wife over their children on January 1, 2024. The woman told police Inga-Landi beat her while she was pregnant and that she feared for her childrens safety around him.
