In a recent revelation at a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event, Lara Trump, co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), announced that the RNC is gearing up for the 2024 presidential election with an ambitious plan.
The strategy involves deploying over 100,000 poll watchers and more than 500 lawyers, according to the Daily Caller.
Lara Trump took to the TPUSA Detroit stage to shed light on the RNC's top priorities as the nation gears up for the upcoming November polls. She revealed that she had been in discussions with RNC chairman Michael Whatley about their "election integrity program." This initiative aims to train thousands of volunteers and recruit attorneys to ensure the smooth running of the electoral process.
"Our other top priority is election integrity. Charlie lets face it, if we dont have free, fair, and transparent elections nothing else matters. That is our goal at the RNC. And by the way every single person in this country, regardless of how you vote, should want free and fair elections. So right before I came here, I was about 30 minutes away with the chairman of the RNC Michael Whatley. He and I started here in the state of Michigan, launching our election integrity program. What we want to do is train 100,000 people all across this country to be part of that team," Lara Trump stated.
She further elaborated that a recent lift in a "consent decree" that had been imposed on the RNC for the past four decades now allows the committee to "train people as poll workers." Lara Trump underscored the importance of having attorneys present at polling locations and mentioned the establishment of "war rooms" across the country to address any issues promptly.
"We also want attorneys to work in every major polling location so we are not reactive, we are proactive. The second you see an issue, we address it. Were going to have war rooms set up all across this country in every state as well to deal with things as they happen, not days, weeks, or months later," she said.
She also issued a stern warning against any attempts at electoral fraud, stating, "If you cheat in an election we will find you, we will track you down, and we will prosecute you to the full extent of the law.
Before her appearance at the TPUSA event, Lara Trump and Whatley attended a meeting in a Detroit suburb where they discussed their plan to have "over 100,000 poll watchers and over 500 lawyers" at the polling sites, as reported by the New York Post. The media was not privy to the specifics of the training for poll watchers and attorneys. However, Whatley assured that the workers would be "taught to be respectful and non-threatening, but to also follow the law."
The RNC's robust plan for the upcoming election underscores the party's commitment to ensuring a free, fair, and transparent electoral process. The emphasis on training a large number of poll watchers and recruiting attorneys is a clear indication of the party's dedication to maintaining election integrity.
The establishment of "war rooms" across the country further demonstrates the RNC's proactive approach to addressing any potential issues promptly and effectively. This strategy sends a clear message about the party's stance on election integrity and its readiness to tackle any challenges head-on.
