Paul Ryan SLAMMED By Fellow Republican Over Trump Comments

In a recent development, Texas Republican Representative Troy Nehls has launched a scathing attack on former House Speaker and Fox News board member Paul Ryan, over his remarks about ex-President Donald Trump.

This comes as a response to Ryan's comments during a Fox News interview, which were later relayed to Nehls by CNNs Chief Congressional Correspondent Manu Raju.

According to the Daily Caller, Nehls, in a statement released to Raju, vehemently criticized Ryan and suggested that he should be expelled from the party. The Texas Republican's statement was shared on a social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter), where he expressed his disdain for Ryan's comments.

Nehls was quoted as saying, Paul Ryan youre a piece of garbage. Youre a piece of garbage and we should kick you out of the party. Dont go spouting your mouth off and saying that youre a conservative. Youre spitting in the face of the leader of our party. I mean grow up a little bit.

Earlier that day, Ryan had expressed his disapproval of Trump on Fox News, branding him as unfit for office. He accused the former president of prioritizing his personal interests above the Constitution. Ryan stated, I voted for him in 2016, hoping that there was gonna be a different kind of person in office. I do think character is a really important issue if you put yourself above the Constitution, as he had done.

When asked by a Fox host if the events of January 6 had influenced his opinion of Trump, Ryan acknowledged that it was a part of his reasoning. He explained, Thats a part of it. I think its a contribution of factors, but I think it really is just character at the end of the day and the fact that if youre willing to put yourself about the Constitution and oath you swear when you take into federal office whether its president or a member of Congress, you swear an oath to the Constitution. And if youre willing to suborn it to yourself, I think that makes you unfit for office.

This is not the first instance of Ryan publicly opposing Trump. In May, he told Yahoo Finance that he would not be voting for Trump in the upcoming November elections, opting to write in another Republican candidate instead. Ryan has not yet responded to Nehls' statement.
