George Clooney BLASTS Biden In Fiery Rant Over ICC Arrest Warrants

In a recent revelation, acclaimed actor George Clooney is said to have voiced his discontent to the aides of President Biden over the latter's criticism of the International Criminal Court's (ICC) decision to pursue arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

This case has a personal connection to Clooney as his wife, Amal Clooney, is involved in it professionally.

According to The Post Millennial, Clooney reached out to Steve Ricchetti, counselor to the president, in May to express his concerns about Biden's denouncement of the ICC's actions. The actor was particularly perturbed by Biden's use of the term "outrageous" to describe the arrest warrants.

Clooney's dissatisfaction also extended to the Biden administration's openness to imposing sanctions on the ICC. The actor's wife, an international human rights lawyer, could potentially be subject to these sanctions, which further fueled Clooney's discontent.

Despite these concerns, Clooney is expected to attend a Biden campaign event in Los Angeles on June 15. The event will also see the presence of personalities such as Jimmy Kimmel, Barrack Obama, and Julia Roberts. There were initial apprehensions that Clooney might withdraw from the fundraiser due to his grievances, but sources have confirmed his attendance.

The ICC's chief prosecutor Karim Khan announced on May 20 his intention to charge Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Hamas leader Yehiya Sinwar, and two other top Hamas leaders with crimes against humanity and war crimes. The White House later expressed its stance that sanctions were "not the right answer."

Amal Clooney, in a statement following Khan's announcement, confirmed her involvement in the investigation. She was reportedly asked to review evidence of suspected war crimes and provide legal analysis.

"I do not accept that any conflict should be beyond the reach of the law, nor that any perpetrator should be above the law, Amal Clooney stated. So I support the historic step that the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has taken to bring justice to victims of atrocities in Israel and Palestine."

George Clooney has been a fervent supporter of Biden, having contributed more than $500,000 to his campaign in 2020 and co-hosting a virtual fundraiser that raised $7 million. Despite his recent concerns, it appears that his support for Biden remains steadfast.
