In a recent episode of The View, political commentator Ana Navarro expressed her outrage at Senator Marco Rubio's comparison of former President Donald Trump's guilty verdict to the oppression experienced by Cubans under Fidel Castro's regime.

The discussion centered around Trump's reaction to being convicted on 34 felony counts. Navarro highlighted Rubio's response, criticizing him as one of the former president's "emotional support senators."

Navarro stated, "They have been outdoing themselves as to who kisses his ass more, who can kiss the ring. Theyre trying to audition to be vice president." She then played a clip of Rubio's comments made on Hannity on May 30.

In the clip, Rubio likened Trump's verdict to Cuba's "show trials," which led to the execution of many Cubans under communist rule. "This is what you see in communist countries," Rubio said, adding, "this is an effort to interfere in an election."

Following the clip, Whoopi Goldberg expressed her shock, but Navarro was quick to condemn Rubio's remarks. Visibly angry, she said, "How dare you, Marco, how dare you? 5,600 Cubans at least were shot in front of firing squads. Another 1,200 were shot and died because of extrajudicial hearings. How dare you use their name in vain so that you can suck up to this man?"

She continued, "I know you want to be his vice president, but dont you dare use the name of these people who died protecting freedom and compare our U.S. judicial system to what happens in Cuba, what happens in Nicaragua, what happens in Venezuela."

Navarro was not alone in her indignation at Rubio's comments. The Florida Democratic Party criticized his comparison as "an insult to democracy and the legitimate institutions in our nation," adding that it was also offensive to the Cuban American community, according to FloridaPolitics.com.

The Miami Herald's editorial board also censured Rubio, accusing him of "diminishing the suffering of Cuban prisoners."
