In a surprising turn of events, a gay pride parade in Philadelphia was disrupted by anti-Israel protesters on Sunday.
The festive march, which was attended by hundreds of LGBTQ+ participants, was brought to a standstill as political protesters chanted the anti-Israel slogan, Palestine will live forever! From the sea to the river! This incident occurred at the end of the parade route in Philadelphia, often referred to as the City of Brotherly Love, as reported by conservative commentator Jack Posobiec.
The confrontation took place at the junction of 11th Street and Locust Street, following the commencement of the Philly Pride March and Festival around 10:30 a.m. at Washington Square. The parade was headed towards the citys Gayborhood section when it was interrupted.
The anti-Israel protesters were heard shouting, PPP, KKK, IOF they are all the same! as the police contained them on one side of the intersection. The pride marchers watched the scene unfold with expressions of confusion and disappointment. The meaning of the acronym "PPP" remains unclear, but "KKK" and "IOF" are widely recognized as references to the Ku Klux Klan and the Israel Occupation Forces, respectively.
Some of the anti-Israel protesters displayed a rainbow flag with the words no pride in genocide painted on it. Others were seen wearing Palestinian-style Kufiya scarves around their heads. One protester was spotted holding a white sheet fashioned to resemble a deceased child wrapped in a shroud.
Meanwhile, in New York City, the Israel Day Parade was held in Manhattan. A masked individual threatened marchers with an antisemitic sign that read, Kill Hostages Now.
Antisemitism has been on the rise across the country since the Hamas attack in Israel on October 7, where the terror group killed over 1,200 people and took 250 hostages, many of whom remain captive. Israel has been engaged in a war with Hamas since the attack, launching a counter-offensive in the Gaza Strip that has resulted in the deaths of thousands of Palestinians and the displacement of many more.
