Alexander Soros, the son of prominent progressive benefactor George Soros, has urged Democrats to consistently label former President Trump as a "convicted felon."
This advice comes in the wake of Trump's conviction by a New York jury on charges brought by a district attorney, whose election was significantly supported by the influential Soros family.
"Democrats should refer to Trump as a convicted felon at every opportunity," Alexander Soros stated on X. He emphasized the importance of repetition in driving home the message, adding, "we want people to wrestle with the notion of hiring a convicted felon for the most important job in the country!"
The Soros family has a history of financially backing the campaigns of prosecutors across the nation, some of whom have been criticized for their perceived leniency on crime. In 2021, George Soros reportedly donated $1 million to the Color of Change PAC, which subsequently used a substantial portion of these funds to support the candidacy of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Campaign finance records reviewed by Fox News Digital revealed that Jonathan and Jennifer Allan Soros, Alexander's brother and sister-in-law, also made direct contributions to Bragg's campaign.
Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, with whom he is alleged to have had an affair.
In response to the verdict, Bragg stated, "I did my job. Our job is to follow the facts and the law without fear or favor. And that's exactly what we did here." He expressed gratitude for his colleagues, adding, "The only voice that matters is the voice of the jury. And the jury has spoken."
However, the verdict was met with strong opposition from Republicans, who criticized the trial as politically motivated. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, a Republican from Ohio, called for Bragg and prosecutor Matthew Colangelo to testify at a hearing next month on "the unprecedented political prosecution of President Trump."
