Amid swirling rumors of a potential split between Jennifer Lopez and her husband Ben Affleck, Joy Behar, a co-host of a popular talk show, has offered some unsolicited advice to the couple.
During a discussion with her co-stars on May 17, Behar expressed her views on the couple's public display of affection and its potential pitfalls.
Behar, 81, cautioned against the practice of publicly declaring one's love, stating, "When you go around shouting your love from the rooftops, it gets tricky when things don't go well." She further advised, "My advice is keep your mouth shut."
The seasoned television personality elaborated on her stance, suggesting that the public gushing over a significant other could eventually backfire. "Telling everybody how much you love each other and writing it on Instagram and Facebook, and then you get a divorce and everybody says, 'Oh, you see?'" she remarked.
Lopez, a renowned singer and actress, has been vocal about her love for Affleck over the past three years on various social media platforms. Affleck, a celebrated actor, has reciprocated by expressing his admiration for his wife in numerous interviews. However, on May 16, Lopez made headlines for a different reason when she "liked" a cryptic Instagram post about unhealthy relationships.
The post outlined the characteristics of an unhealthy relationship, including lack of integrity, emotional safety, respect for time, effective communication skills, and self-awareness. Each point was further explained, highlighting why these traits could be detrimental to a relationship.
Multiple sources have reported that Affleck and Lopez, who first got engaged in 2003 but called it off, are now living separately after getting married in 2022. The couple reconciled in 2021 and were last seen together in public at Affleck's child Fin's school play earlier this week. Following the event, Affleck reportedly dropped Lopez off at their home before heading to his own property. The couple had not been photographed together since March.
