Prominent entrepreneur Kevin OLeary has enthusiastically endorsed President Joe Biden's proposal for two debates with former President Donald Trump, describing it as a much-needed respite from the ongoing legal controversies.
OLeary, appearing alongside co-host Steve Doocy on a Wednesday segment primarily centered on inflation concerns, shifted the conversation towards the upcoming election following Biden's early morning announcement. The President expressed his desire to engage in debates with Trump in June and September, a proposition that Trump appears to have accepted.
"I love it," OLeary declared in response to Biden's proposal.
OLeary suggested that voters have been excessively preoccupied with Trump's legal battles, including his Manhattan trial over alleged hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
"I think the country is begging for policy. We've been talking about the trials in New York, the real estate wars, and now the porn star wars; I get it, I understand all that, but if you're a New Yorker right now, you're probably asking yourself, 'is this the best way to spend our money?'" OLeary stated. He emphasized the need for clarity on key policy areas such as border security, interest rates, and foreign affairs ahead of the election.
OLeary urged for a cessation of the "porn star wars" and a focus on policy. "All of these issues are left open, and inflation I want to hear more about. I've got to have this information to make a decision as a voter. I don't have it. So let's stop the porn star wars. Let's take a break. Let's get policy. Debates, I welcome them," OLeary said. "Bring it on, bring it on, bring it on."
In response to Biden's debate proposal, Trump criticized the President as the "worst debater" he's ever faced and suggested more than just two debates.
