'The View' Host Has Her 'MeToo' Moment During Show Segment

In a recent episode of The View, a heated debate ensued over the ongoing trial concerning alleged hush money paid by Donald Trump.

Co-host Ana Navarro expressed her belief that the lawyers were excessively harsh on adult film actress Stormy Daniels, who testified about her purported sexual relationship with Trump.

Trump has consistently denied any affair with Daniels. However, Daniels maintains that they had a sexual encounter in 2006, and she was subsequently paid $130,000 to keep her story under wraps before the 2016 election.

Navarro drew parallels between the case and the MeToo movement during the episode. "I don't know how many women there are that it resonated with the way it did with me, but I can tell you I've been in rooms with powerful men where I think I'm showing up for a meeting and they're half-naked," Navarro stated, before being interrupted by Joy Behar.

Behar's quip about the nature of these meetings elicited laughter, but Navarro remained serious, responding, "The same meetings that people had with Harvey Weinstein, or with Bill Cosby or with Charlie Rose."

Navarro continued, expressing surprise that Behar had not experienced a similar situation, where a professional meeting turned inappropriate. Behar's jesting response did not deter Navarro, who reiterated the relevance of the MeToo movement in such situations.

In the same segment, Sunny Hostin, who attended the trial, informed her co-hosts that Trump's lawyers had called for a mistrial due to the explicit nature of Daniels' testimony, which included a claim that Trump did not use protection during their encounter.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former employee of the ex-president, agreed with Navarro, stating that the defense was overly aggressive towards Daniels. She highlighted the age difference between Daniels and Trump at the time of the alleged incident, with Daniels being 27 and Trump in his 60s.
