Adult film actress Stormy Daniels took a jab at former President Donald Trump on social media, following a judge's refusal to amend a gag order that would allow Trump to directly address her.
"Real men respond to testimony by being sworn in and taking the stand in court. Ohwait. Nevermind," Daniels posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Daniels testified in Trump's hush money trial earlier this week. Her presence in the courtroom was unusual, and at one point, proceedings were paused as the judge cautioned her against excessive talking and providing irrelevant information to the jury. Despite two dismissal attempts by Trump's defense team, Judge Juan Merchan denied both, acknowledging that Daniels had included some unnecessary details in her testimony.
Trump is currently facing over 30 felony charges, accused of falsifying business records to hide hush money payments to Daniels, allegedly made to conceal an affair. Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing and the existence of the affair.
Trump is not anticipated to testify in his Manhattan trial. His defense team requested a modification to the gag order on Thursday, which would allow him to respond to some of Daniels' more scandalous allegations. However, Judge Merchan rejected this request, citing the need to protect the integrity of the proceedings.
Merchan has held Trump in criminal contempt ten times for violating his gag order. After the last fine, the judge warned Trump that further violations could result in jail time, a prospect the former President claims he is prepared for. The trial continues and can be followed via CNN.
