Border Betrayal: Anonymous Agent Blows Whistle On Cartel Control Over Border

In an exclusive interview with NewsNation's Ali Bradley, an unidentified Border Patrol agent made a startling revelation about the control of the U.S. border.

The agent, whose interview is set to air on a special edition of "Dan Abrams Live" at 9 p.m. on Thursday, suggested that the U.S. border is under the control of cartels, not U.S. officials.

"The biggest thing is that we do not control the border, the cartel controls the border. Everything that we do is a reaction to things that they have planned. Usually were chasing around pawns while the kings and queens are doing whatever they want," the agent disclosed.

This perspective mirrors the challenges faced by an agency that has historically grappled with low morale and recruitment difficulties. The Border Patrol's role has significantly transformed due to the influx of migrants, many of whom are asylum seekers. This has led to officers dedicating more time to processing asylum applications than patrolling the border.

The political role of agents has also intensified, with the National Border Patrol Council, the agency's union, expressing strong views on border management and immigration policy. The union's president, Brandon Judd, is expected to retire later this month.

Organized crime has steadily increased its presence in Mexico, with cartels often imposing a tax on smuggling operations for their services to migrants in specific border areas. Accusations of drug money influencing Mexican politics have further fueled the perception of cartel dominance in Mexico. This comes as the federal government has been implementing a "hugs, not bullets" strategy aimed at appeasing organized crime for nearly six years.
