In a forthcoming interview with "The Drew Barrymore Show," Vice President Harris candidly addressed the criticism she has received over her distinctive laugh.
The interview, set to broadcast on Monday, saw Harris reflecting on the public's tendency to mock and scrutinize the idiosyncrasies of public figures.
Harris, the first woman to hold the vice presidency, stated, You were asking me earlier about what it means to be, like, the first woman. And, you know, its funny, because people still got to get used to this, right? This statement was obtained from a clip provided by Mediaite.
Harris further shared that her staff often brings to her attention the public's fascination with her laughter. Like, apparently, some people love to talk about the way I laugh, she remarked.
In the interview, Harris also shed light on the influence of the women in her life, who often gathered around the kitchen table, sharing stories and laughter. She credits her mother for her own hearty laugh, stating, I have my mothers laugh. And I grew up around a bunch of women in particular who laugh from the belly.
Harris, refusing to suppress her laughter in response to criticism, offered advice to those grappling with similar issues. And I think its really important for us to remind each other and our younger ones, dont be confined to other peoples perception about what this looks like, and how you should act in order to be right, she advised.
