WATCH: Ilhan Omar WARMLY Welcomes Suspended Daughter At Columbia's Anti-Semitic Encampment

Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota was observed on social media last Thursday expressing solidarity with students at Columbia University during an anti-Israel demonstration.

She was there to counter what she referred to as "right-wing attacks."

The Times of Israel initially reported on a video posted on Omar's Instagram and other social media accounts, which depicted her interacting with friends of her daughter, Isra Hirsi. Among these friends was a Jewish pro-Palestinian activist donning a yarmulke.

Hirsi was among several students who faced suspension following the detention of over 100 anti-Israel demonstrators by police at Columbia University last week, as reported by Breitbart News.

The frequency of anti-Israel protests on campuses nationwide has escalated since the October 7 attack on Israel by Hamas, a U.S.-designated Islamic terror group. The attack resulted in the death of 1,200 Israelis and over 200 individuals taken hostage.

Omar had previously posted a statement on social media expressing her "solidarity" with the students involved in the anti-Israel encampment at Columbia. "Columbia has always had an incredible history of students fighting for a more just world and it's good to see that tradition continue," Omar wrote. She added, "As NYPD surrounds young activists, I hope their concerns are heard by school administrators and they not be criminalized. In solidarity."
