Jesse Waters says that Chicago has been living in a nightmare scenario while suffering under the leadership of Mayor Lightfoot in recent years.
He points out that Chicago has had to suffer with the rising crime rates soaring throughout the country, but it has been even more pronounced in areas like Chicago.
While speaking about this, Fox News reports that Waters said:
The best part about the United States of America is we can [get rid of] our [own] leaders if enough of us vote. [Now,] it can be frustrating when you live next to idiots because idiots put idiots in charge, but even sometimes idiots realize they picked an idiot. Thats what happened last night in Chicago.
He pointed out that Mayor Lightfoot only got 17% of the vote in a Democrat primary after she spent four years in power in Chicago. The residents of Windy City were tired of dealing with her. They expressed their disapproval at the ballot box by having their say. Voters kicked her out of the office of the Mayor. They sent her out with just 17% of the vote in the primary.
Jesse Waters had more thoughts about this. He continued by saying:
So the crime-deniers say crimes not happening, and if you say it is, youre a conspiracy theorist. Nobody bought that except Lori Lightfoot, [and now] shes out of a job. And the pro-police Chicago Democrat, Paul Vallas, is in the lead. Hes going to win. He says [hes going to] make Chicago the safest big city in America. That promise gets you elected every time.
Waters wanted to make sure that people understand that there has been a major shift in how things are going and have been going in the Windy City. He tried to make it incredibly clear that people have other options, and he feels that the city hasnt been able to tackle the issue of crime in particular. There have certainly been many other issues going on in Chicago, but Mayor Lightfoot has specifically highlighted this.
Now, the Mayor is out, and there will finally be a turning of the page and a look ahead to other options for Chicago in general. Therefore, some new and exciting developments may come in a city that has long suffered under poor leadership.
