Behind The Badge: CA Sheriff Deputy's Secret Life Comes To Surface And Paints A VERY Grim Picture

In a shocking revelation, a Southern California Sheriff's Deputy has been found leading a clandestine life as a member of a notorious motorcycle gang.

The New York Post reports that a significant cache of firearms, including a shotgun stolen from his department, was discovered at the deputy's residence.

Christopher Bingham, 45, a seasoned veteran with 18 years of service in the Sheriff's Department, was apprehended on March 23 while riding with two other members of a motorcycle gang. At the time of his arrest, an unloaded and unregistered firearm was found in his possession. Bingham was subsequently detained at the Smith Correctional Facility, although he was later released.

The department had been tracking Bingham since January 2024, following suspicions of his association with the biker gang. This led to an official investigation into the deputy's activities, according to the report.

Following Bingham's arrest, investigators from the Gangs/Narcotics Division secured a search warrant for his residence in Twentynine Palms, California. The San Bernadino Sun reported that Bingham was escorted to jail wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the phrase "(Expletive) the 81!" The number "81" is understood to be a moniker for the Hells Angels, a rival gang to the Mongols, with whom Bingham is alleged to have affiliations.

The t-shirt also bore the acronym "SYLM," which reportedly stands for "Support Your Local Mongols."

During the search of Bingham's home, investigators reportedly uncovered approximately 160 firearms, including a modified, fully automatic assault rifle with an attached grenade launcher, and a customized AR-15 assault rifle with a 12-inch barrel.

District Attorney Jason Anderson was unable to confirm whether Bingham was suspected of trafficking firearms for the Mongols, or provide detailed information about his association with the gang. However, he did state unequivocally that "[t]his appears to involve the Mongols, without question."

San Bernadino Sheriff Shannon Dicus expressed his dismay in a statement, saying, The actions of this deputy are alarming and inexcusable; he not only tarnishes his badge but also undermines the integrity and credibility of the entire department." He added, Criminal behavior will not be tolerated, and we have placed him on compulsory leave effective immediately. The investigation has been forwarded to the District Attorneys Office, and charges have been filed.

Bingham is currently facing multiple felony charges, with the investigation still in progress.
