In a recent development, former President Donald Trump has coined a new sobriquet for himself, referring to himself as "Honest Don" in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.
In the same post, he challenged current President Joe Biden to a comprehensive debate.
In his post, Trump stated, "For the good of our now failing Nation, and in order to inform the American people of what is going on in our Country, we must immediately have a full-scale debate between Crooked Joe and Honest Don. Im ready to go, ANY TIME, ANY PLACE! This post was made on Tuesday.
Later that same evening, both Trump and Biden secured the necessary delegates in the primaries to win their respective party nominations. Trump triumphed in another series of Republican primaries, surpassing the delegate threshold required to secure the GOP presidential nomination.
On the other hand, Biden effortlessly secured the Democratic nomination for President after winning his partys Georgia primary, followed by victories in Mississippi and Washington.
Trump, the former President, is now focusing on a rematch of the 2020 election, advocating for a "Crooked Joe" vs "Honest Don" debate on his social media platform.
However, the self-proclaimed nickname "Honest Don" was met with irony and ridicule by some social media users. One user commented, "Trump is the ONLY human on the planet that calls Donald Trump Honest Don. The rest of us know that hes a lying grifter.
The irony of the nickname "Honest Don" was further highlighted by a 2021 report by The Washington Post, which claimed that Trump made more than 30,000 false or misleading statements during his four-year tenure as president.
Another user wrote, In what could be the most ridiculous, outrageous, fraudulent, dishonest case of branding ever, Trump has now given himself a nickname: Honest Don.

Nikki Haley, Trump's main Republican rival, has been dubbed "Birdbrain" in several of Trump's Truth Social posts and rallies. Recently, he referred to California Governor Gavin Newsom as "New-scum" while discussing U.S. border policies.
