A 15-year-old is currently in critical condition after a violent altercation transpired on Saturday between law enforcement officials and an undisclosed number of individuals who opened fire in close proximity to Six Flags Over Georgia.

According to a report by WSB-TV, authorities were summoned at approximately 6:15 p.m. following reports of a large and disorderly crowd, exceeding 500 individuals, engaged in altercations near the entrance of Six Flags.

"Several suspects discharged firearms at officers on a street adjacent to the premises," stated officials as they were dispersing the crowd from the amusement park.

In response, officers retaliated, resulting in a 15-year-old sustaining gunshot wounds. The injured teenager was expeditiously transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he remains in critical condition, as per AL.com.

Furthermore, ANF highlighted that Six Flags Over Georgia clarified that the incident took place on the nearby South Service Road, an area not under the jurisdiction or management of the theme park.
