Putin's Playful Jab: Russian President Responds To Biden's Offcolor Remark In True Putin Style

In a recent press interaction, Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to President Biden's controversial remarks with a touch of humor.

Earlier this week, President Biden's comments about Putin during a climate change speech at a California fundraising event made national news. "This is the last existential threat, it is climate. We have a crazy SOB that guy, Putin others. And we always have to be worried about a nuclear conflict," Biden stated. "But the existential threat to humanity is climate."

When asked to comment on Biden's "SOB" remark, Putin referred to his previous endorsement of Biden over his rival, former President Donald Trump. "He can't of course say to me: 'Volodya, well done, thank you [for the endorsement], you've helped me a lot?'" Putin quipped, as translated by Agence France-Presse. "Volodya" is a familiar, affectionate form of Putin's first name, "Vladimir," akin to "Bobby" for "Robert" in American English.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov also responded to Biden's comment, suggesting that it was "probably some kind of attempt to look like a Hollywood cowboy," as reported by Reuters.

In a recent state television interview, Putin expressed his preference for the "more predictable" Biden in the upcoming U.S. presidential election over Trump. When asked who would be a better choice for Russia between Biden and the Republican frontrunner, Putin said, "Biden, hes more experienced, more predictable, hes a politician of the old formation," adding, "But we will work with any U.S. leader whom the American people trust."

Putin also shared his thoughts on Biden's mental state following the release of Special Counsel Robert Hurs report last week, describing him as a "sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory." He recalled his meeting with Biden in Switzerland three years ago, stating, "When I met with Biden in Switzerland -- true, that was several years, three years ago -- people were already saying he wasn't up to it. I didn't see anything of the kind," as reported by Reuters."
