Try Not To Laugh: Eric Swalwell Is Sole Sponsor Of This Democratic Resolution

According to a report by Fox News, former Democratic Representative Eric Swalwell has his eyes set on removing former President Donald Trumps admission card to the Capitol.

The unhappy Swalwell was removed by Republicans from the House Select Committee on Intelligence because of his year-long interaction with a known Chinese spy.

Swalwells co-sponsorship of a new Democratic resolution states nothing less than permanent banishment is what Trump and several of his aides deserve. Swalwells reason is that Trump and company attempted to undermine and return the 2020 presidential election."

To make his point, Swalwell is the sole co-sponsor of the resolution put forth by Democratic Representative Nikama Williams of Georgia. The resolution asks the Senate and House Sergeant at Arms and the Capitol Police to take such actions as may be necessary to prevent Donald Trump, and eight former counselors and advisers to Trump, from ever stepping foot in the Capitol again.

The recommendation to take steps to banish Trump and company came after the Select Committee investigated the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

In part, the resolution states, The effort to undermine and overturn the 2020 presidential election damaged the functions of our Democracy and that those efforts also damaged the integrity of Congresss constitutional role in certifying the election results.

In the resolution, the eight recommended for banishment include former adviser Steve Bannon, Mark Meadows, former White House chief of staff, former deputy chief of staff to the White House Dan Scavino, Trumps former assistant Peter Navarro, Jeffery Clark, former Assistant Attorney General, and attorneys representing Trump, Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, and Kenneth Chesebro.

Swalwell was vocal in his accusations that Trump had conspired in 2016 with Russia to win the election and that Trump acted on Russias behalf.

In 2020, payback came at a hefty price when reports of Swalwell and his relationship with Fang Fang, a Chinese spy, were brought to light. Fang Fang worked with Swalwell on his campaign as early as 2014. When Swalwell denied involvement in a sexual relationship with the spy, Republicans complained that Swalwell be removed from the House Intelligence Committee. When House Speaker Republican Kevin McCarthy took over as leader of the Congress, he took steps to remove Swalwell and Representative Adam Schiff from the committee.

After being removed from the House Intelligence Committee, Swalwell still had more to say, arguing that the decision exemplified Republicans supporting Russia.
