In a shocking incident, a woman in Florida commandeered a police vehicle on Thursday, leading to a high-speed chase that resulted in her death and the death of two others, as reported by FOX35.

The Marion County Sheriffs Department released body camera footage capturing the moment 33-year-old Kendra Boone seized control of an unattended patrol car and sped off, prompting a swift pursuit by another deputy. The officer whose vehicle was commandeered can be heard exclaiming, "No!" as he spotted Boone at the helm.

The officers were initially dispatched to Forest Plaza in Silver Springs in response to reports of a woman attempting to steal a car. Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods defended his deputy's decision to leave the patrol car running, asserting that anyone could have found themselves in a similar predicament. "You saw how fast that happened. Even in my 34 years of experience, that would have happened to me," Sheriff Woods stated.

The ensuing chaos drew bystanders from nearby shops, according to FOX35. One witness, Katelyn Rentz, described the scene as "insane," adding, "I have never seen that People are crazy, man. That was my first thought. People are insane.

Boone, who was reportedly facing multiple charges across Florida, pushed the stolen patrol car to speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour before colliding with a pickup truck. The impact killed two of the three passengers in the truck, as well as Boone herself.

When questioned by FOX35 about potential fault on the part of his deputy, Sheriff Woods dismissed the notion. "That means shit," he retorted. "That doesnt play a factor in anything. This moron stole a police vehicle and killed two human beings. What my policies are and what the procedures are mean nothing. We did nothing wrong. My deputy did nothing wrong.

Upon hearing initial reports about the stolen patrol car, Sheriff Woods admitted his reaction was one of panic due to the potential threat posed by the weapons in the vehicle. "Theres a long rifle in there. The moment she did that, she was a threat to human life," he said.

The third passenger in the pickup truck Boone collided with remains hospitalized, according to FOX35.
