Marjorie Taylor Greene Lodges Ethics Complaint Against Fani Willis' "Loverboy"

In a recent development, Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis finds herself at the center of a storm, following accusations of an inappropriate romantic liaison with a prosecutor she appointed to the election interference case against former President Donald Trump.

The prosecutor in question, Nathan Wade, is now the subject of an ethics complaint lodged by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who alleges that Wade committed a series of ethical transgressions.

On Thursday, the outspoken conservative legislator submitted a complaint to Georgia's ethics commission against Wade, an external attorney hired by Willis for the Trump case. Greene alleges that Wade, who is rumored to have had an improper romantic relationship with Willis, committed "potential serious violations" of state law. These purported violations include his alleged failure to register and file lobbyist paperwork disclosing "his solicitation" of Willis and "excessive gifts" to the prosecutor.

In the complaint shared with Fox News Digital, Greene wrote, "Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis stands credibly accused of using Fulton County and federal COVID funds to pay her unqualified, secret boyfriend Nathan Wade--who has never tried a felony case$250 per hour to collude with the Biden White House counsel and help Fani Willis bring unprecedented RICO felony charges against President Trump and 18 co-defendants."

Greene continued, "Willis allegedly paid her secret boyfriend a significantly higher hourly rate than another one of her special prosecutors who actually has significant experience. And with the nearly $700,000 Wade has collected in government funds as one of Willis' special prosecutors, he has allegedly taken her on a luxury Caribbean cruise, a trip to Napa, and other lavish trips."

Greene maintains that the Georgia Campaign Finance Act necessitates lobbyists to report their efforts to influence the discretion of lawmakers, administrators, and district attorneys in the execution of their duties. She pointed out that Wade's law firm is a state vendor and lobbyist, and that Wade did not register as a lobbyist and file monthly spending reports over the past three years.

This is the latest twist in the ongoing saga involving Willis and Wade. Trump and one of his co-defendants have sought to disqualify Willis from the prosecution against them. Trumps team has now joined the effort to disqualify Willis from the case, a move that could alter the course of the prosecution against him.

Earlier this month, attorneys for Trump co-defendant Mike Roman alleged, without providing specific corroborating evidence, that Willis and the special prosecutor she hired to work on the case "have been engaged in an improper, clandestine personal relationship."

Roman's motion alleges that the funds earned by the prosecutor, Nathan Wade, through the case were used to finance extravagant vacations. However, there is no evidence to support these claims. The filing attributes the allegations to unnamed "sources close to both the special prosecutor and the district attorney."

In a six-page filing on Thursday, the former president's Georgia legal team adopted Roman's motion, which claimed "that an improper intimate personal relationship existed between Special Prosecutor Wade and District Attorney (DA) Willis, that Wade has been paid over $650,000 by the DA, and that taxpayer monies were used by Wade to take the DA on lavish vacations."

Willis' office is expected to respond to the allegations in a court filing by Feb. 2. The allegations are explosive, as Trumps team argues that the alleged affair not only constitutes a serious conflict of interest but also involves a misuse of public resources. If these claims are substantiated, it could undermine the integrity of the prosecution and potentially lead to a dismissal of charges against Trump and his co-defendants.

While Willis has not explicitly denied the allegations of the improper relationship, she has countered by asserting that the revelations are the result of racism. She also accused Wades wife of collaborating with Trumps team to discredit her.

The judge overseeing Trumps election interference case has scheduled a hearing in February to investigate the allegations against Willis and Wade.
