Elon Musk Tours Auschwitz Following Allegations Of Antisemitic Content On X

Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur, was seen at the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp site in Oswiecim, Poland, on Monday.

This visit follows allegations of Musk permitting and promoting antisemitic content on his social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Musk was accompanied by Ben Shapiro, a podcaster from Daily Wire, during his visit. The two were scheduled to address the issue of online antisemitism at a conference organized by the European Jewish Association (EJA) in Krakow, Poland.

The Auschwitz-Birkenau site, located near the village of Birkenau in southern Poland, is a grim reminder of the Holocaust. The site, enclosed by barbed wire, still displays the wooden barracks and a gas chamber where prisoners were tortured under Nazi rule.

Contrary to initial expectations of Musk attending a memorial service at the death camp on Tuesday, he arrived a day earlier, as reported by The Associated Press.

The EJA, in an email to the AP, stated, "Due to schedule concerns, before Elon Musks arrival to the European Jewish Association conference, he took part in a private visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau with EJA Chairman Rabbi Menachem Margolin, Ben Shapiro and Holocaust survivor Gidon Lev. Musk laid a wreath at the wall of death and took part in a short memorial ceremony and service by the Birkenau memorial.

In November, Musk faced severe backlash for seemingly endorsing an antisemitic conspiracy theory that Jews are responsible for the rise in antisemitism in Western countries due to their alleged intent to flood these nations with minorities. Responding to the post, Musk said, You have said the actual truth.

Following a report by liberal watchdog Media Matters for America, several major companies, including Disney, Apple, IBM, and Paramount, withdrew their advertisements from X. The report claimed that it found ads from these companies placed next to posts glorifying Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party on the platform. In response, Musk told the advertisers to go f??? yourself at The New York Times DealBook Summit in November.
