Controversy In Illinois: Voters Challenge Joe Biden's Eligibility For 2024 Election

Voters in Illinois have lodged several objections against President Joe Biden, in a bid to prevent his name from appearing on the state's ballot.

This move, aimed at declaring the President "ineligible" for the 2024 election, coincides with numerous efforts to exclude former President Donald Trump from ballots nationwide.

As reported by the State Journal-Register, three objections were submitted to the Illinois State Board of Elections before the January 12 deadline. Among the objectors were Shane Bouvet, Timothy Conrad, Terry Newsome, and Peggy Hubbard, a former candidate for the US Senate.

The group's contention is that Biden, during his tenure as a senator, vice president, and president, allegedly "provided aid or comfort to the enemies," rendering him "ineligible" for the presidency.

The objectors stated in their filing, "Biden has given aid and comfort to enemies of the Constitution and the United States by, among other things, failing to enforce the laws of the United States, allowing entry of enemy agents illegally into the country including tens of thousands of military age men, and abandoning assets of the United States to the possession of our enemies." They cited China, Iran, the Sinaloa Cartel, and MS-13 as some of the alleged beneficiaries of his actions. Bouvet further emphasized, "Our objection is to reinforce that We The People will not tolerate betrayal.

The group maintained that the cases against Biden and Trump are distinct. They argued that while Trump held a single political office where he pledged to "preserve, protect, and defend" the Constitution, Biden's extensive political career required him only to "support" the document.

This is not the first instance of a Democratic candidate's eligibility being questioned in Illinois. The State Journal-Register notes that former President Barack Obama faced multiple objections in 2012, stemming from baseless allegations about his citizenship.
