Bizarre Airborne Drama: Tokyo-Seattle Flight Diverted As Passenger Allegedly Bites Flight Attendant

Flight 115, en route from Tokyo's Haneda Airport to Seattle, was forced to return to its point of origin on Wednesday after an American passenger allegedly bit a flight attendant.

The incident involved a 55-year-old man who, following the biting attack, was promptly restrained by the crew of All Nippon Airways as the aircraft turned around over the Pacific Ocean and headed back to Haneda. Upon arrival in Tokyo, the man was arrested.

According to Kyodo News, the alleged biter claimed to have taken a sleeping pill and had no recollection of the incident. However, other reports suggest that the man was heavily intoxicated at the time and deliberately sank his teeth into the arm of a crew member.

The flight was carrying a total of 159 passengers. This incident follows closely on the heels of a runway collision at Haneda Airport involving a commercial carrier and a Coast Guard plane. Tragically, five out of the six individuals on board the Coast Guard aircraft lost their lives, although all 379 passengers on the JAL Airbus managed to escape unharmed.
