Presidential Showdown: Vivek Ramaswamy Defends Against Trump's Social Media Attack In High-Stakes Iowa Interview

In a recent interview with Fox News, Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy addressed the criticism he received from former President Donald Trump on the latter's social media platform, Truth Social.

The exchange occurred ahead of the Iowa caucuses, a crucial event in the race for the Republican nomination.

When asked by Fox News host Steve Doocy about Trump's remarks, Ramaswamy responded, "Well, I didn't get thrown anywhere, but I think there might have been an attempt to do that." He further added, "I took it in a lighthearted way, but the truth is that people have to have their heads stuck in the snow not to see what's happening on the ground here. I know the mainstream media is ignoring it, but there has been a massive surge here late in the process."

Ramaswamy, who has received endorsements from prominent figures such as former GOP lawmaker Steve King, expressed optimism about his campaign's progress. "I think we're going to see a shock tonight," he predicted.

Trump's criticism of Ramaswamy came in a post on Truth Social, where he accused the latter of disguising his support through deceitful campaign tactics. "Vivek started his campaign as a great supporter, the best President in generations, etc.," Trump wrote. "Unfortunately, now all he does is disguise his support in the form of deceitful campaign tricks. Very sly."

Trump further claimed that Ramaswamy is "not MAGA" and urged his followers not to be "duped." It's worth noting that Ramaswamy, like Trump in 2016, is the only major Republican candidate without prior officeholding experience.

In response to Trump's post, Ramaswamy took to X, stating, "Yes, I saw President Trumps Truth Social post. Its an unfortunate move by his campaign advisors, I dont think friendly fire is helpful." He refrained from criticizing Trump, instead expressing his concern for the former President and the country.

"Donald Trump was the greatest President of the 21st century, and Im not going to criticize him in response to this late attack," Ramaswamy wrote. "Im worried for our country. Ive stood up against the persecutions against Trump, and Ive defended him at every step."
