Philadelphia On Edge: Investigation Underway After THIS Is Found Behind Church

Written by Published

Philadelphia is understandably on edge after a Catholic bishop was found murdered in the city.

On top of that, RedState reports that a pipe bomb was found behind a Catholic church on Sunday in the city.

The bomb was found near train tracks behind St. Dominic Catholic Church on Frankford Ave. The bomb is said to measure about 18 inches, and there is a lot of concern related to the fact that it seems like the Catholic Church is being specifically targeted. This is worrying in a city like Philadelphia, where many people practice Catholicism.

RedState reports that the streets around the church were closed down while they worked on safely removing the bomb. No one was injured in the handling of this situation. It is unclear why the bomb was placed there or the motivation of the person who did it. However, many are pointing to the idea that there.

Although the motive for this specific attack is not clear, some point to the fact that there has been a spate of attacks against religious institutions in the wake of the ruling by the Supreme Court that overturned Roe v. Wade as a potentially motivating factor for some people to launch such attacks.

Earlier this month, Auxiliary Bishop of Los Angeles David OConnell was shot dead outside his home. There is no suspect in that case, and the murder remains unsolved.

The Archbishop in the area recognized Bishop OConnell by saying:

Our beloved Auxiliary Bishop David OConnell has passed away unexpectedly, he said. Its a shock and I have no words to express my sadness. As a priest and later a bishop here in Los Angeles for forty-five years, Bishop Dave was a man of deep prayer who had a great love for Our Blessed Mother. He was a peacemaker with a heart for the poor and the immigrant, and he had a passion for building a community where the sanctity and dignity of every human life was honored and protected.

The police have called the shooting of the Bishop a murder, but they have not revealed any suspect in the case. They dont know who might have done this or why. There is also no known connection between the pipe bomb placed behind the church and the murder of the Bishop, but some are openly asking if the two things might be connected. That remains an open question at this time.
