Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has expressed her strong anticipation for Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R) and Attorney General Christopher Carr to initiate a criminal investigation into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
Greene, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, stated, "There's so much proof" of misconduct in Willis's prosecution of former President Donald Trump.
On Wednesday, Greene lodged a complaint against Willis and her chief prosecutor, demanding the dismissal of the charges against Trump. The complaint alleges an inappropriate relationship between Willis and her chief prosecutor in the Trump case.
"This isn't political at all," Greene asserted during a phone interview. She further claimed that there is substantial evidence suggesting that Willis and her chief prosecutor, Nathan Wade, have violated multiple laws. "The evidence is pouring out; people have been posting [it] all over social media," she added.
Greene's complaint was filed in response to a court submission by Mike Roman, a political operative and co-defendant of Trump in the Georgia election case. Roman's filing detailed four significant allegations concerning Willis's conduct during Trump's prosecution.
"I really have high expectations of Governor Kemp and our Attorney General Chris Carr," the Georgia congresswoman stated, advocating for a criminal investigation. She warned that if Kemp disregards this issue, it would demonstrate "an extreme political bias."
According to experts, Kemp and Carr, who transitioned from being a Trump ally to a critic following the 2020 election, have the authority to command a criminal investigation into Willis and the prosecutor. Such an investigation could potentially disrupt Willis's prosecution.
"They can't wash their hands of this," Greene insisted. "Even if they are supporting DeSantis or hate President Trump they can't wash their hands of this one."
Greene also drew attention to a Politico report alleging that the partisan January 6 Committee secretly collaborated with Willis to acquire material to aid her in prosecuting Trump. Some Republicans argue that this collusion was intended to conceal Willis's discovery in the Trump case from public view. As Breitbart News's Joel Pollak previously reported, "Because the evidence was concealed to keep it away from discovery requirements that would allow defense lawyers to see what was shared, and the extent of the collaboration."
Greene underscored a significant contradiction in the claims made by the partisan January 6 Committee. The committee informed lawmakers that it lost or does not possess much of the information discovered during their January 6 hearings. However, if the Politico report is accurate, the committee provided Willis with the information to prosecute Trump.
"This is extremely serious," Greene declared. "Think about that. They can't hand it [information] over to members of Congress now, but yet they gave the information to Fani Willis."
"It is an extreme contradiction," she concluded, advocating for an investigation into Kemp. "I'm recommending a criminal investigation in the state of Georgia, but we certainly have to expand it on a much higher level because of the involvement between Fannie Willis and the January 6 committee."
