In the latest release of documents pertaining to the notorious Jeffrey Epstein case, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been identified as a potential witness in a defamation lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell.
The lawsuit was filed by Virginia Giuffre, an alleged victim of Epstein. Moreover, Giuffre's legal representatives have insinuated that the Clinton Foundation might have been financially supporting Maxwell.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Clinton was mentioned in a 2016 document from Maxwell's lawyer in response to Giuffre's demand for "all communications with thirteen specific witnesses" during the lawsuit.
The document, submitted by Giuffre, accused Maxwell of declining to "comply with a discovery request seeking information about her connection to the Clinton Foundation, claiming that such a request is 'obviously intended to harass and embarrass' her.'" The document refutes this claim, stating "Nothing could be further from the truth."
Giuffre's legal team endeavored to demonstrate that Maxwell was concealing the extent of her wealth and suggested that the Clinton Foundation might be a source of her funding.
The document stated, "It is Defendant who intends to argue at trial that Ms. Giuffre has made inaccurate statements about various interactions with former-President Bill Clinton." It further added, "Of course, if Defendant [Maxwell] (or any of her organizations) is receiving funding from the Clinton Foundation, that would provide a clear motive for her to slant testimony on this subject."
The document continued, "Ms. Giuffre is entitled to explore this clear possibility of bias by obtaining information of the financial connections between Defendant and the Clinton Foundation."
Neither Bill nor Hillary Clinton are implicated in any wrongdoing in the documents. While Hillary's name does not reappear in the released documents, former President Bill Clinton's name is mentioned 73 times. During Giuffre's lawsuit against Maxwell, an anonymous witness, referred to as John Doe #36, testified that Epstein had stated Bill Clinton "likes them young, referring to girls."
Maxwell is also alleged to have attended Chelsea Clinton's wedding while evading a deposition for the lawsuit. After arranging a time and location, and securing a confidentiality agreement, Maxwell's lawyer informed Giuffre's counsel at the last minute that Maxwell was leaving the country due to her mother's illness and had no plans to return.
However, the documents reveal, "A short time later, Maxwell was photographed at Chelsea Clintons wedding in Rhinebeck, New York," which confirmed suspicions that she was still in the country and would say anything to avoid her deposition.
In 2009, Giuffre claimed that Epstein had sexually assaulted her when she was 15 and that she was "required to be sexually exploited by [Epsteins] adult male peers, including royalty, politicians, academicians."
