The Post Millennial has a story about former President Trump making a trip to East Palestine, Ohio, next week as he attempts to highlight some of the issues that had come up as a result of the Biden Administration's failure to clean up the issues that took place when a train derailed in that area recently.
A source familiar with the schedule of the 2024 contender said that Trump intends to travel to East Palestine on Wednesday to meet with members of the local community there. He hopes to build bonds between himself and the people the train derailment has impacted significantly.
The derailed was a Norfolk Southern train that carried many dangerous chemicals. One of those chemicals is vinyl chloride, which creates PVC plastics. That chemical has now leaked into the area's air, ground, and water. Therefore, many people in and around the area can be potentially exposed to these dangerous chemicals. All this has been happening while the Biden Administration has been incredibly slow to act or respond to what has happened there. Now, Trump is going to the area to show his support and offer solutions.
The Post Millennial reports a signed letter authorized by Ohio Governor Mark DeWine and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro to allow for a controlled release of the chemicals in the train because they wanted to avoid the risk of an explosion on that train. While most can agree that we certainly did not want to see an explosion on the train, it is also true that many people are seriously concerned about what might happen due to the controlled release of these chemicals over the Ohio and Pennsylvania area.
Officials in the area have continued to try to make the case that residents are safe to return to the area. Still, many have expressed concerns about the number of dead animals that have appeared in the area following the chemical release. They believe this is a sign that things aren't safe for them to return to their hometown.
