The current occupant of the White House, President Joe Biden, has been noticeably absent from his duties, raising concerns about his ability to effectively lead the nation during a time of multiple crises.
The escalating issues at the border, where illegal alien encounters have reached a record high of over 300,000 in a single month, and the ongoing hostage situation involving American citizens held by Hamas, are among the pressing matters seemingly ignored by the President.
The Republican National Committee (RNC) Research recently highlighted Biden's lack of public engagements, noting that for the 13th consecutive day, the President had no scheduled activities. The report detailed Biden's activities over the past two weeks, which included a brief visit to Children's National Hospital and a vacation at Camp David. There was no mention of any efforts to address the pressing issues facing the nation.
Biden's response to a question about the border crisis upon his return from St. Croix was vague and noncommittal. He stated, "We gotta do something," but offered no concrete solutions. Instead, he shifted the blame onto Republicans, suggesting they needed to provide more funding.
Biden's tenure thus far has been marked by a lack of leadership and a series of policy failures. Instead of focusing on rectifying his poor record, the President appears to be attempting to deflect attention by launching attacks on former President Donald Trump. He has released ads criticizing Trump supporters, accusing them of endangering democracy and voting rights.
Biden is scheduled to deliver a speech on Friday, commemorating the January 6 riot. However, this event does not address any of the ongoing crises. The speech, which was rescheduled from Saturday due to weather, will take place near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. It is expected that Biden will use this platform to label Trump and his followers as threats to democracy.
However, it is not Trump who is prosecuting his political opponents or attempting to restrict citizens' right to vote for their preferred candidate. It is not Trump who is undermining "voting rights." Rather, it is the Democrats who are attempting to disqualify Trump through dubious 14th Amendment challenges. It is the Democrats who are threatening to deprive millions of their rights and attacking the democracy they claim to champion.
The question then arises: who poses the real threat to our democracy? The answer, it seems, lies not with Trump and his supporters, but with those currently in power who are failing to address the nation's pressing issues and instead focusing on political maneuvering and deflection.
