One of the hard truths about the Biden labor market that the White House doesn't want to discuss is that an estimated 1.
9 million fewer Americans have jobs. Meanwhile, roughly 2 million foreign workers have gained jobs. This may make the numbers look like they balance out on a spreadsheet or economic report, but it truly means that foreign workers are taking on new jobs while native-born Americans are not working in the same numbers they used to.
Breitbart reports that a new analysis by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) shows that at the end of the fourth quarter of 2022, roughly 2 million fewer native-born Americans were working than during the same period in 2019. Meanwhile, their analysis found that approximately 2 million foreign-born workers have taken their place.
Another finding in the CIS study was that the number of native-born Americans working has declined for the last two decades. This is a scary trend that many believe will continue.
The report read in part:
"If the labor force participation rate for the working-age U.S.-born in the fourth quarter of 2022 was what it had been in the fourth quarter of 2000, then 6.4 million more people would be in the labor force."
Breitbart reports that the CIS analysis notes that the native-born workforce mainly fell off in the last year compared to previous years. The labor force participation rate fell to 70.3 percent at the end of last year. That compares to 71.4 percent in 2019, 74.8 percent in 2006, and 76.4 percent in 2000.
The native-born labor force has fallen off a cliff in the last two decades.
Their findings showed that there is a brutal hit for men who have a Bachelor's Degree. Their labor force participation rate has fallen to 83.7 percent at the end of 2022. It has been falling consistently since 2000.
The Biden Administration has focused on adding foreign-born workers to the workforce to bolster the official employment numbers in the country. However, few are fooled by this shell game. There is a real pain in the country as people cannot find the kind of work they used to be able to find. This falls squarely at the feet of the Biden Administration as they have not done anything to attempt to change the economic conditions of the everyday person.
