In an exclusive report, Fox News Digital has revealed that former first lady Melania Trump chose to spend her Christmas with her ailing mother, forgoing the traditional Trump family gathering at Mar-a-Lago.

A source close to Mrs. Trump confirmed her absence from the family event, stating, "Melania has always been very devoted to her entire family. It should be no surprise that she spent this Christmas with her ailing mother."

While Melania was attending to her mother, her son Barron joined his father, former President Trump, and other family members for the Christmas dinner at their Palm Beach, Florida residence.

Earlier this year, in a conversation with Fox News Digital, the former first lady expressed her unwavering support for her husband's potential presidential campaign. She voiced her anticipation for "restoring hope for the future and leading America with love and strength" during a possible second term. Mrs. Trump described the opportunity to serve as first lady again as a "privilege."

She further outlined her potential agenda for a second term, emphasizing her commitment to initiatives centered on children's well-being and development. She pledged to ensure that children have the "support and resources they need to reach their full potential."

Currently, former President Trump is leading the GOP primary field. During her tenure as first lady, Melania Trump championed the "Be Best" initiative, hosting virtual roundtables on foster care and working to bolster the child welfare system. She collaborated with Congress members to secure funding for grants aimed at supporting youth and young adults in or formerly in foster care, covering their college, career school, or training expenses.

Since departing the White House, Mrs. Trump has ventured into the digital art space, creating special edition Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). Proceeds from these NFTs contribute to her "Fostering the Future" initiative, which aims to provide educational opportunities and scholarships for children in the foster care community.

Earlier this month, Melania Trump addressed new American citizens at a naturalization ceremony held in the historic National Archives Rotunda. She spoke about the "responsibility" of citizenship and the significance of "guarding our freedom." The ceremony saw 25 individuals from 25 different nations sworn in as new U.S. citizens before the Constitution and other founding documents.
