Elon Musk, although considered an old-school Democrat, is now positioned slightly right of center.
He has been vocal in his opposition to wokeness and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, which he believes are essentially racism disguised under a more appealing name.
In a recent tweet, Musk expressed his views, stating, "DEI initiatives are just racism with a prettier name." This sentiment is shared by Dave Rubin, who agrees with Musk but takes it a step further, suggesting that the racism embedded in DEI initiatives was intentionally implemented.
Rubin explains, "The people behind diversity, equity, and inclusion departments in corporations and government knew exactly what they were doing. They were instilling racism and resurrecting old issues that we thought were resolved."
Musk further reinforced his stance by tweeting, "Quite correct," in response to Rubin's statement. However, not everyone shares this perspective. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the director general of the World Health Organization, retweeted one of Musk's tweets and countered with a statement of his own.
Ghebreyesus claimed that DEI ensures "respect for all individuals regardless of their background or identity," contradicting the notion that it is based on judging people by race. Rubin, however, points out the apparent contradiction in Ghebreyesus' statement, highlighting the "duplicitous double language" inherent in DEI.
