Israeli Mossad Reveals Alarming Surge In Iranian Threats Worldwide: Foiled Terror Plot In Cyprus Raises Concerns

Written by Published

According to the Mossad, Iran has been increasing its efforts to harm Israelis worldwide since October 7.

The arrest of two Iranians in Cyprus, who were linked to a plot to commit a terror attack, serves as evidence of this heightened threat.

The Jerusalem Post reports that the Mossad, with the help of local authorities, detained the two individuals for questioning regarding their suspected involvement in planning attacks on Israeli citizens residing on the island. The Kathimerini Cyprus newspaper states that the Iranians were in the early stages of gathering intelligence on potential Israeli targets. The paper also mentions that the individuals were political refugees who had contact with a person associated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

The Israel Prime Minister's Office, speaking on behalf of the Mossad and the National Security Agency, stated that the arrest of this cell was made possible due to intelligence information about the terrorists, their methods of operation, and their intended targets, as reported by the Times of Israel.

A senior official from Cyprus declined to comment, citing national security policy.

Cyprus, a popular holiday and investment destination for Israelis, has long been a favored location. In June, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that an Iranian attack against Israeli targets in Cyprus had been thwarted, as highlighted in The Jerusalem Post.

Tehran has denied any involvement in plots to attack Israelis in Cyprus, a member of the European Union.
