Nikki Haley, the former UN Ambassador and governor of South Carolina, announced her bid for the White House for 2024 this past week.
It didnt take long for members of The View to begin to attack that announcement, and some are now saying that there is evidence that those on The View might have been even viler toward Haleys announcement than they have been about other candidates that have gotten into the race.
Fox News reports that Haley bills herself as the new generation of leadership, but the hosts of The View took a noted sarcastic and vile tone about her getting into the race.
Whoopi Golberg took particular exception to Haleys announcement. Golberg attacked her for failing to admit that America isnt perfect and suggested that she no longer knows right from wrong.
Golberg said the following about the announcement: So Nikki, you know, since you have been asleep all this time, and you just woke up, youre just finding out that there are things about our country that are not perfect, and And for us to pretend that it is and that nothing happened is ridiculous. So youre not saying anything new.
Greg Gutfeld of Fox News took issue with how The View handled the announcement. He said the following on The Five on Wednesday:
Ive never seen women more vile to other women than on The View. Theyre hateful. They are blind to any womans achievement.
He said that members of The View often talk about how much they support diversity but are not tolerant of diverse political viewpoints.
Gutfeld said: Their idea of diversity stops at diversity of opinion. If you dont agree with them, youre as good as scum to them.
Many points out that the Left and the co-hosts of The View often advocate for and celebrate when people of diverse racial backgrounds make strides in politics and other fields. However, they are not applauding the accomplishments of Nikki Haley at this time, even though she has a minority background and is making a significant stride as a conservative woman running for President.
Although some fair critiques of Haley might be made during the primary process, it seems that members of The View have gone after some of the lowest-hanging fruit and are attacking her based on factors that dont seem fair or relevant.
