Hunter-Shielding DOJ Prosecutor SUBPOENAED By House GOP In Federal Probe

The House Judiciary Committee's Republican members have issued a subpoena to Lesley Wolf, a senior prosecutor at the Department of Justice, who is currently investigating Hunter Biden.

Fox News Digital has learned that Wolf is accused of attempting to protect President Biden from certain questions, inquiries, and search warrants related to the investigation.

The subpoena, reviewed by Fox News Digital on Tuesday, mandates Wolf's appearance before the committee on December 7 at 10 a.m. ET at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C.

Wolf came under scrutiny earlier this year following allegations from an FBI whistleblower that she restricted questions about the President and obstructed search warrants due to concerns about "optics" during the protracted investigation.

Gary Shapley Jr., an IRS supervisor of the investigation, is the whistleblower who claimed that decisions were made "at every stage" of the Hunter Biden probe that "benefited" the President's son.

Shapley made several serious allegations that questioned the validity of the long-term investigation and directed critical accusations at Wolf. He claimed that Wolf sought to "limit" questioning related to President Biden and apparent references to Biden as "dad" or "the big guy."

According to Shapley, Wolf dismissed the line of questioning related to President Biden as having "no specific criminality," a move that reportedly "upset the FBI."

In October 2020, Wolf reviewed an affidavit for a search warrant for Hunter Bidens residence and "agreed that probable cause had been achieved," according to Shapley's testimony. However, he claimed that Wolf ultimately refused to allow a physical search warrant on the Presidents son.

Shapley stated that Wolf believed there was "enough probable cause for the physical search warrant there, but the question was whether the juice was worth the squeeze."

According to Shapley, Wolf cited "optics" as a significant factor in the decision on whether to execute a search warrant. He added that Wolf conceded that "a lot of evidence in our investigation would be found in the guesthouse of former Vice President Biden but said there is no way we will get that approved."

Wolf is also accused of alerting Hunter Bidens legal team prior to a planned search of his storage unit.
