In a recent development, California law enforcement authorities have apprehended a suspect in connection with the death of Jewish man, Paul Kessler, who tragically lost his life during a protest in California last Sunday.
As reported by Fox News, the suspect, Loay Abdelfattah Alnaji, a 50-year-old professor at Ventura County Community College, was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter. His bail has been set at a staggering $1,000,000. Sgt. Robin Yoos, in a conversation with Fox News, stated that further details regarding the case would be disclosed later in the day.
Earlier, Jim Hoft had reported that Kessler was embroiled in a heated confrontation with a pro-Hamas protester in Ventura County. The protester allegedly assaulted Kessler with a megaphone, resulting in a severe head injury that led to Kessler's fall. Despite the best medical efforts, Kessler succumbed to his injuries on Monday, and his death was subsequently ruled a homicide.
The Daily Mail had previously identified Alnaji as a suspect in Kessler's death, revealing that his home had been searched by the police. At that time, Ventura police confirmed the existence of a suspect but refrained from identifying him or making an arrest.
Alnaji, who is married to Palestinian economics professor Nada Al Hammouri and is a father to two young children, migrated to the United States in the 1990s after teaching in the United Arab Emirates. He has been openly supportive of Palestinian terrorists intent on annihilating Israel. The Daily Mail reported that he had posted several messages in Arabic on his Facebook page, extolling their virtues.
In one of his posts, he wrote, "O Allah, release the captivity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque Sooner than later..Oh Allah, dont deprive us of praying in it before we die Oh God, give victory to your weak servants in Palestine, and everywhereO Allah, bind their hearts with the bond of patience and faith.."
Alnaji also shared a video by radical Islamist activist Shahid King Bolsen, who drew parallels between Hamas and civil rights icons such as Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi.
Eyewitnesses at the scene informed Fox News that Alnaji had attempted to provoke Kessler prior to their altercation, using a megaphone to shout directly at pro-Israel protesters. Jonathan Oswak, a friend and fellow protester of Kessler, recounted Alnaji's aggressive behavior, stating, "I dont know how many times I told him to take that out of my ear. And I wasnt polite about it. He tried to bait me and I didnt take the bait. Then he walked across the street and tried to bait Paul."
The Ventura County Sheriffs Department announced on Thursday that they are still seeking photos and video footage from the intersections of Westlake and Thousand Oaks Boulevards between 3 and 4 p.m. A reward of $1,000 has been offered for any relevant information or footage.
