In a shocking incident, eight teenagers, aged between 13 and 17, have been apprehended by the Las Vegas police in relation to the brutal killing of Jonathan Lewis.

The authorities are still on the hunt for two more individuals involved in the case. Lewis was mercilessly beaten by a group outside Rancho High School, succumbing to his injuries on the same day. He was discovered in a lifeless state post the assault in a nearby alley and was subsequently returned to the school premises.

The arrest of the suspects was a joint operation conducted by local law enforcement and an FBI Criminal Apprehension team. The operation was initiated following the execution of nine search warrants, leading to the discovery of clothing that matched those worn by the individuals seen in the video footage of the fight. Additionally, cell phones were also seized during the operation, according to Fox 5.

"There's a high likelihood that there's additional video out there that we don't have," stated Homicide Lt. Jason Johansson, hinting at the possibility of uncovering more footage from the seized phones. Johansson urged parents to discuss the incident with their children, cautioning them not to ignore the situation. "Remind them that their actions have consequences. Their actions have lasting consequences, their actions have lifelong consequences," he added.

According to Johansson, the fight was instigated over a pair of wireless headphones and possibly a vape pen. These items were allegedly stolen from a friend of Lewis, leading to a premeditated confrontation in the alley, as reported by the police.

Following the altercation, the police were alerted to the scene where they found Lewis severely injured and bleeding from the head. Despite being rushed to the hospital and placed on life support, his condition deteriorated. Johansson indicated that the suspects could potentially face charges as adults.

"As soon as a punch is thrown, ten subjects immediately swarm him," Johansson described the incident. Ten individuals were identified by the police, eight of whom have been "positively identified." The remaining two are still at large.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, Lewis' family decided to donate his organs following an autopsy. A GoFundMe campaign has also been initiated.
