Former "American Idol" contestant, Jimmy Levy, recently recounted a harrowing experience aboard a JetBlue flight.

The singer, who gained fame from his stint on the popular reality show, documented the incident on JetBlue Flight 1401, which was scheduled to fly from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Levy shared the video on Instagram, describing the ordeal as "one of the scariest moments of my life."

Levy narrated that he had dozed off before the plane's takeoff, only to be abruptly awakened by a sudden rush of heat directed at his face. "I immediately opened my eyes and noticed my backpack, which was initially tucked underneath my seat, now in an exploding and floating ball of fire," he said. Swiftly reacting,

Levy stomped on the flaming backpack, aided by the flight crew, who helped extinguish the fire. However, the severity of the incident necessitated the evacuation of all passengers for a comprehensive investigation.

Levy, in his Instagram post, expressed his conviction that the incident was a "spiritual attack from the pits of hell," which he rebuked in the name of Jesus. Despite the terrifying experience, the singer found reason to rejoice, grateful for only sustaining minor burns on his hands.

He thanked God for his life, his family's safety, and the well-being of his fellow passengers. He also expressed gratitude that the incident occurred while the plane was still on the ground, stating that the experience would only strengthen his faith.

JetBlue, in a statement to Fox News Digital, confirmed the incident. "On Monday, October 30, JetBlue flight 1401 with scheduled service from New Yorks John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) was evacuated while at the gate before takeoff due to a customers malfunctioning electronic device or battery," the airline stated. The crew, according to JetBlue, promptly responded and managed the situation.
