Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a speech on Wednesday, expressing his determination to fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah and ensure the security and prosperity of the Jewish state.
Netanyahu emphasized the need for unity and a shared belief in the justice and eternal existence of the Jewish people.
"It is now a time to come together for one purpose, to storm ahead and achieve victory with joint forces in a profound belief in our justice, a profound belief in the eternity of the Jewish people," Netanyahu stated. "We shall realize the prophecy of Isaiah. There will no longer be stealing at your borders and your gates will be of glory. Together we will fight, together we will win."
By referencing Isaiah 60:18, which speaks of a future without violence and destruction, Netanyahu underscored his commitment to creating a peaceful and secure environment for the Israeli people. The verse states, "Violence shall no more be heard in your land, devastation or destruction within your borders; you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise."
Netanyahu also revealed that preparations were underway for a ground incursion into Gaza, as well as a potential ground invasion. However, he refrained from providing specific details, stating, "I will not elaborate on when, how or how many. I will also not elaborate on the various calculations we are making, which the public is mostly unaware of, and that is how things should be."
The Prime Minister acknowledged that accountability would be necessary once the conflict had ended, including his own role in the decision-making process. However, he made it clear that such discussions would only take place after the war had concluded.
