Elon Musk has confirmed that he will limit the Ukrainian military's utilization of his Starlink satellite web access so that it couldn't be exploited in a way that would result in the "escalation of a conflict that may lead to World War III.

In response to NASA astronaut Scott Kelly's tweet that asked Musk to continue providing Starlink assistance to Ukraine, Musk expressed concern that Starlink could aid the military of a conflict-ridden nation, implying that the technology was being used as a weapon.

Kelly implored Musk to keep on providing Ukraine with assistance, tweeting, "Ukraine desperately needs your continued support."

He pleaded, "Please restore the full functionality of your Starlink satellites. Defense from a genocidal invasion is not an offensive capability. Its survival. Innocent lives will be lost. You can help, Kelly wrote and added a Thank you.

In response, Elon Musk asserted that Kelly was smart enough not to swallow media & other propaganda bs.

Musk added that the communication backbone of Ukraine, especially at the front lines, where almost all other Internet connectivity has been destroyed. But we will not enable escalation of conflict that may lead to WW3.

Another Blogger wrote that SpaceX did not ban Ukraine from using Starlink despite the increased tensions. Musk responded, SpaceX commercial terminals, like other commercial products, are meant for private use, not military, but we have not exercised our right to turn them off. Were trying hard to do the right thing, where the right thing is an extremely difficult moral question, Musk added.

Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX President, made remarks the prior week indicating Ukrainians have leveraged Starlink in ways that were unintentional and not part of any agreement. It was never intended to be weaponized.

Since the Russian invasion on February 24 last year, Ukraine has been relying on Starlinks 2,200 satellites in low orbit to replace their telecommunications and electricity infrastructure destroyed by the Russian attacks. The Technology was also crucial to help their drones and fighters identify their opponents and address long-distance attacks.

Mykhailo Podolyak, a top adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky, claimed that SpaceX needs to pick a side between Ukraine's right to liberty or Russia's right to kill & seize territories.

Musks communications did not show or suggest that the use of Starlink would be changed in any way.
