Brooklyn Nightclub Sparks Controversy With Anti-Israel 'Intifada Fundraver' Event

A New York City nightclub, The End NYC, located in Brooklyn's Bushwick neighborhood, has sparked controversy by hosting an event dubbed the "Intifada Fundraver" on Sunday night.

The event was promoted using a video of the Hamas terror attacks on Israel, which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Israelis.

The End NYC, which identifies as LGBTQ+ friendly and women-owned, used footage of terrorists bulldozing the Israel/Gaza border fence from October 7. This incident led to a massacre of hundreds of Israelis by Hamas. The club's support for such an event is ironic, given the homophobic and misogynistic tendencies of the terrorists they were indirectly endorsing.

The promotional video for the event included a voiceover that stated, The Apartheid Wall, which is 5 feet thick, and 350 kilometers long, that Israel is building, is never shown on CNN. The narration continued, criticizing the media for feeding citizens a "diet of ignorance and misrepresentation."

The video then transitioned to footage of terrorists attacking Israeli Defense Forces, tearing their bodies off tanks while shouting "Allah, Hu Akbar."

The "Intifada Fundraver" featured performances by Bobby Beethoven, Loka, Kilbourne B2B Rabbeat, Shyboi, Pauli Cakes, and Yara Bey. The club announced that all proceeds from the event would be donated to the Palestine Childrens Relief Fund and the Medical Aid for Palestine.

The event drew criticism from several political figures. Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) stated, A NYC club known as The End is holding an 'Intifada Fundraver,' glorifying the deadliest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust." He further highlighted the issue of antisemitism in American culture, urging for it to be confronted.

Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine also condemned the event, calling it a "glorification of a massacre."

Despite widespread backlash and the removal of the promotional video, the event remained listed on DICE, a platform that promotes live shows and events. The End NYC also posted a letter from the Palestine Childrens Relief Fund the day before the event, which failed to mention the Hamas massacre and blamed the humanitarian crisis affecting Palestinians on Israel.

New York State Democratic Senator Julia Salazar defended the event, stating, This is in our district, and I personally would love it if people would stop inciting fascists to come out to my district and counter-protest some party at a club that was promoted with very stupid and insensitive messaging.

The Hamas attacks resulted in the deaths of over 1,300 Israelis, with thousands more wounded. Many individuals, including Americans, were taken hostage by Hamas. This event serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing conflict and the need for sensitivity and understanding in its portrayal.
