Congresswoman Lauren Boebert's reelection campaign reportedly spent over $300 for an event at a bar co-owned by a man she was seen with in a compromising situation during a Denver performance of "Beetlejuice" last month.
The Federal Election Commission (FEC) records indicate that the campaign for Boebert, a Republican from Colorado, spent $317.48 at the Hooch Craft Cocktail Bar in Aspen, Colorado, in late July. The bar is co-owned by Quinn Gallagher, whom Boebert admitted to dating briefly.
The 36-year-old representative, known for her eccentricity, suggested that her relationship with Gallagher ended due to his Democratic party affiliation. "All future date nights have been canceled and I learned to check party affiliations before you go on a date," Boebert told TMZ after their controversial date.
The congresswoman and Gallagher were expelled from a Denver performance of "Beetlejuice" for causing a disturbance. Footage from the event showed Boebert vaping and touching Gallagher inappropriately during the show. Gallagher was also seen reciprocating the inappropriate behavior.
Theatre officials stated that the pair violated theatre policy by taking photographs and were the subject of complaints from surrounding audience members.
In April, Boebert filed for divorce from her husband, Jayson. A month prior, she disclosed that her 17-year-old son, Tyler, had impregnated a girl.
Boebert, who has a history of arrests, initially defended her behavior at the theatre. However, after the footage surfaced, she adopted a more apologetic stance. "I was a little too eccentric. I am very known for having an animated personality. Maybe overly animated personality," she told One America News Network last month.
The congresswoman's campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Post.
FEC filings show that Boebert's campaign raised $853,840 in the third quarter, which spans from July to September, leaving her campaign with $1,434,675 cash on hand.
Her main Democratic opponent, Adam Frisch, claims to have raised $3.4 million. Frisch, 56, lost to Boebert by a narrow margin of 546 votes in the previous election.
